This Week of Give & Take

This is the week of give, and take
when one life was spread so thin,
this is the time of weep and wake
then gathering the best, within.

This, is the time of let, and live,
that everyman should see all sides;
when humble becomes a man to forgive
and turns but once to confide.

And to whom should he confide? you ask;
let it be to the woman of his heart,
for in her he shall be taken to task
but for nothing more than to impart

The wayward thoughts of all he holds,
his flights to anger, the flights he seeks,
the fears of failure, less grasp of gold
and his astonishment of earthly and weak;

For man would be immortal, ‘tis feared,
and live a life that would not quit;
and yet the flames of all that would sear
seems to make it so he surely cannot sit.

Thus he turns to a being of non-recourse,
A being that lives within us all;
And finally finds the light of his Source;
As he walks down a trail to Kingdom’s Hall.

Reb? Holy Week has changed for me. But the message has not. It all remains a matter of study, of common sense, and yes, that we should maintain a belief. I will not take from anyone, the belief that is theirs, as long as they do not take that of mine from me.
