6 AM Call To Duty or Calgon Take Me Away

late to bed
early to rise
I go through this torture
studying for the prize
another test over
today that I passed
number 3 and here I’m
wishing it was the last
June 25th can not
come too soon
the state test for
myself and the platoon
I hate these khakis
miss my uniform of green
(never thought I would say that !!!)
but this is what they wear
to train sheriff department marines
so they hang on my door
waiting on my return
another day of ground fighting
wait…is that another rug burn
I’m tired and bruised and they
won’t let me wear jewelry or perfume
did they forget I’m a woman
they did…I presume
oh well,the last day of June
is really not that far
that’s when I will graduate
and the sheriff will
give me a new star
