His only wish,
A perfect fish
So every day,
He made his way
Down to the stream
To catch his dream.
But alas,
It came to pass,
He got his hook
Stuck in the brook
And lost his bait,
He got irate
And threw his pole
In the fishing hole,
No way to fish,
To get his wish,
And so he left
A man bereft
His wish
Of fish
He swore,
“No  more!”
Now it came to pass,
A large mouth bass,
Came swimming by
And did espy
The pole,
In the hole.
He thought the rod
A wee bit odd,
And circled round
Until he found
The bait
That’s great,
He swallowed it
And then got bit,
By the hook,
O’ how he shook,
Right up on shore,
In the hole no more.
A boy walked by
Said me oh my
Look at the bass,
There in the grass,
He got to musing,
This is confusing,
In the fishing hole
Is a fishing pole
With a large mouth bass
Hooked in the grass.
I wonder who is down in the hole,
A holding on to that fishing pole?

What a refreshing read!
I enjoyed this as I just started bass fishing a couple of years ago.
Most enjoyable...may we have more please?

Welcomed the spirit of the fish and the fisherman.  Neat write.
