Her name is Symphonic Wind.
She is a gentle forgiving mare,
a great beginner’s mount
who glides and bends gracefully
over poles and jumps
in a dusty lesson arena.

When you come to her as a student
to groom and tack up for a ride,
if you pay attention and listen
to the language of Equis,
you will learn far more than
how to move from point A to B
in style safely.

Listen carefully. Watch and observe.
For the Symphonic Wind can teach
valuable life enhancing lessons
of forbearance, patience,
persistence, understanding,
respect and compassion.
If you give her what she needs
to succeed as your partner,
in each encounter
you will find the channels
of communication are wide open.

Come to think of it,
this method works equally well
with two legged creatures,
though it appears to be
a technique rarely used,
especially
by most governments.

Your poetry always amazes me. You write with such a beauty that only you can do.

I agree.  The four legged animals can teach us well.  Aw, I guess I better include the two legged creatures, too.  There is a family of geese that regularly visit each year-what a lesson they teach.
   Your writing was enjoyable.

Ha! I love how you end this one!

I've never encountered the feeling training equi but I can well imagine the bond that grows between animal and human.
However, I do know the bond that can exist between an animal and a human.

Beautiful name! "symphonic wind"
Reminds me of the song by Michael Martin Murphy...."Wildfire"  Talk about a bond...

She Comes down from yellow mountain
On a dark, flat land she rides
On a pony she named Wildfire
With a whirlwind by her side
On a cold Nebraska night

Oh they say she died one winter
When there came a killing frost
And the pony she named Wildfire
Busted down his stall
In a blizzard she was lost

She ran calling WILDFIRE!
she ran calling WILDFIRE! she ran calling WILDFIRE!

By the dark of the moon I planted
But there came an early snow
Theres been a hoot owl howling outside my window now
For six nights in a row
Shes coming for me I know
And on WildFire were both gonna go

We'll be riding WILDFIRE!
We'll be riding WILDFIRE! We'll be riding WILDFIRE!

On WILDFIRE (were gonna ride)
(were gonna leave sodbusting behind)WILDFIRE!
(get these hard times right on outta our minds..riding wildfire) WILDFIRE

Ain't doin nothin at all
Just answerin the call
Kinda driftin away from it all~~~~~

Saunni, so good to have you visit!

Sadie, yes, some two leggeds, too

Eric, wow, thanks for posting MMM's song! Several years ago, I saw him perform that song live in Tallahassee, FL. His traveling motor coach is painted with a galloping herd on it.

Dixie glad you enjoyed

REB, thanks, sweetie!
