In Your Poetic Mind

{From my Journals of Endless Winters}

~~

{Just before, the music is tender}

Now midnight-perhaps she sleeps with another
in greener fields and white orchids

I might say, there are no stars tonight
  instead I recall history
I walked by unrecognized, wondering
why am I alone

I found silence; a silence with the scent of oceans
a seething force of
nature changed or changing

but lifting the shades nothing had changed
even the panes revealed recent tears

darkness will settle

painting eyelids with velvet black
it all runs  together

If I ever pray again
it will be to the crimson moon -
I belonged there
one of those rare moments
of frozen space
&curved words

surviving the meeting of
worlds with false peace –

I have not yet released
   touching that which changes --
      lonely devotions
infected with such light
it echoes at daybreak
tracing  edges

I can not remember the
first time I noticed the walls
& it matched  my mood,
or even the smell of cigarettes

winter will leave with the taste of nothing
   {for years to come}

but

sad laughter gently inviting
the casual glance of

empty eyes

~~**~~
The sound of silence calls,
I hear your voice and suddenly
I'm falling, lost in a dream
The echo of our souls meet
~~**~~

Sometimes I read you and I just shake my head and wish I had the words.  Endless winters...yep.
Wonder would a new calender fix that??

I have to agree with the others..

Reading you is like sinking into a big, soft, comfortable couch and sighing..because its where I belong for that moment.

Lauren

Your pen is so sensitive to the inner poet.  This is so lovely.
