Fading

What happened to my smile...
Did everything just fade?
What happened to the times,
The memories we've made?

Hope has disappeared
Pain and grief collide
Reaching for the friends
That now have left my side

Years pass through my mind
Stumbling through my heart
Chasing you away
Pulling us apart

Did it hurt you, too?
Did you cry today?
Searching for the truth
We might find the way

Where did my smile go?
Reach out for my hand
Whisper to my soul
Help me understand

Moving on is hard
Your cheeks can't hide the stain
You know I always tried
To love you through the pain

But you just turned away
And then...so did I
Forgetting how to care
I didn't say goodbye

A rock they called my heart
A gem they called my soul
A golden chance was lost
To keep it in control

Where has my smile gone?
What pain have I went through?
You took my heart, my friend
Then took my smile, too.

Well constructed plea...
In touch with best friend, and how they hold our heart...the write is good to compell discussion of the feeling contained within it.  You are very talented in your writing and in the delivery of the understanding.  Much better than a slamming door. TD

Darker Season,
First, let me welcome you to Passions, a place I really enjoy.  The people here are great, full of talent, sincerity, and watch out for the humor!  Some send humor just when it's needed most.

I enjoyed reading your poem.  It brought
old heartache back for a few minutes, but time took care of that one.  You express yourself well in writing.  I'm looking forward to reading your work.
