Between the Lines

Gresham's Law

~*~

How much strength does it take
to walk away from one life,
but not to another?

I don't want to be here
expressing words that go to no one,
meaning nothing, having no outcome.

Watching others make their way,
either real or fantasy doesn't matter.

Everytime I think my path is greener,
and I try to cherish what there is of it,
the richness of hope becomes diseased.
And all progress made is lost,
washes away in the day's reign.

If you think I don't try my best,
you are misinformed, but my best
doesn't seem good enough anymore.

I can't be ageless, because the lines
will eventually show.
I can't be open to all that goes against
my inner child and all that I am.

I have no real talent, just compassion
that feeds me and makes me care.
Other than that, I am a teacher...

Remember that saying?
"Those who can, do...
Those who can't, teach."

I believe that Gresham’s Law might apply to some
But not all
Am aware of several teachers that are competent and caring people
That teach because they want to make a difference
And they do make a difference;
Unfortunately
There are some that the law would apply,
If anything it is the fault of the system
Not those good teachers.

Good write
