I have a list of wuzzes that I was supposed to do
And on the other side is a list of Dids that I have done.
Sometimes the wuzzes outdo the dids
And to this plea now I have come.

Lord help me with my wuzzes, for they are a whole list long:
I was to help my grandma, I was to sing a song,
I was to kiss my husband, I was to hug my kid,
Only two things on this list are the ones I did.

Lord help me with my wuzzes, they are growing great
I was to pray to You before; I was to fix a gate;
I was to see a friend, and learn just how to relate;
I was to go on a camping trip with my long-time mate.

I was to write a letter; I was to pull the weeds;
I was to write a poem, and see to my own needs;
I was to get a mammogram, oh Lord please hear my plea
How can I get these to my list of dids before I fall down to my knees?

I was to do the dishes, I was to wash the dog;
I was to get the car lubed, and to remove the kitchen clog;
I was to bake a cake, and get the cookies done;
I was to do these things before the setting sun.

I was to remember my childhood
so my children I would raise just right
but all I did was turn around
and my children were adults ~ simply overnight.

I was to set a course for me
A course so straight and true
And all I have before me now,
is a list of undone wuzzes, as I stand before You.

For all of the things I’ve done did,
and with all these wuzzes left to do
Lord smile upon me, this woman here,
For I’m sure my list is shorter, than the list You did for You.
