whispers

thrice a day my nerves jangle,
dance a jig as if passing amps,
thrills in the chills of offices;

she always whispers when she talks
on the phone; cubicles are unprivate,
and so my torture is quietly done;

once after arriving,
once just before lunch,
once when starting the commute,
and the delay till leaves me frayed.

anywhere, anytime a hand on my chest,
a kiss on my cheek at a party
and then a whisper in my ear;

succulent lips and a sandpaper tongue,
teasing, daring, embarrassing, me
because it never fails.

Yes, a soft whisper, a gentle touch, or that special glance...whether intended to or not, they do have an effect on both mind and body.
