When I was small I had a Duncan YoYo
and it would ALMOST always come back to me
whenever it got too far away
from its recovery point;
but sometimes it would be naughty
and refuse to return to its centerpoint

which of course,
was right where it shoulda been all along

proving that life is just
an up and down game

but it's really only fun
when you put it all in perspective
and play by the rules

and yes...

I still think YoYos are terrific,
and lots more fun than a barrel
of you-know-whats.

But jiminy cricket never did
pull any strings.

*FYI*
2004 is the 75th anniversary of the Duncan Yo-Yo

Kacy~
You brought back a bunch of memories with this one~

When my brother and I were in high school, the Duncan Yo-Yo man would come to a little store across the street from the school ... He would put on displays of all the 'tricks' he could make those Yo-Yo's do ... he also held contests and my brother was the Yo-Yo Champion for a long, long time~

Thank you for this ... I'm sharing with brother Tony~

You're so full of interesting little tidbits.
For the life of me, I could never get that yo yo to come back up to me.

Cute poem, Kacy~

Enjoyed this....I was good at up and down, but I always wanted to be able to walk the dog.
