Along the bramble path, he wandered
Barefoot and thoughtful, he hungered
The shade was kind upon his shoulder
And silent thoughts seemed all he told her
At last the meadow came in sight
The sun had lost its higher light
Against the oak so tall and straight
His slumber set until quite late
Just dusk became the clock struck six
His first revive of strikes and sticks
To find beside him gathered up
The ripest fruits, a loving cup
The growl within to conjure more
His hunger fed of three or four
To see besides a crystal glass
Of pink and finest ever cast
The wine was chilled and set to be
Within his reach to plainly see
Upon his brow a furrowed mark
As deeper dropped the cloak of dark
The movement of the wind just so
Familiar footfalls meant to know
A song that called him to his feet
A crackling stew on fire fleet
Right there she sat to tend and fare
He wander up in truth or dare
And they exchanged a heart to heart
Through out the night into the start
Of morning light and April rain
She gathered up the berries plain
And then commenced to walk beside
His gentle soul and smile wide
It may be said that fate did call
To trace the path for both or all
But to believe that berries wait
Seems quite unlikely contemplate

She must have planned ahead

Must have planned ahead? I'm not so sure! But then that's what poetry is all about isn't it.
A beautiful write! I thoroughly enjoyed the images.
