~*~

You were the words to my poetry,
not so long ago.
Something about love
inspired, far beyond the look in your eyes.

A promenade in private
with a purpose and a sigh,
we moved in a circle of two
finding ways to keep warm in the rain.

I felt safe in your arms
wide open to possibilities
the sky was the limit,
seemingly endless.

But as sure as the sun sets in the west
you slipped away like silk
in a heart beat,
without a ripple.

You made it look easy to pull strings
then watched me come undone.
It's been a long time gone
and I'll never love that way again.

But I survived the unraveling,
in case you ever doubted me.

So does that make us fools for love AND poetry???

Melancholic, but so very beautiful.

And be sure, dear friend, that you will love again ... and maybe more than you did.

Love and hugs. Margherita

that makes it so unforgettable, at times heart wrenching, but worth it....I have no doubt it will touch you again....

yes well said, ditto to sy
and this sinks in my heart, so sad, sweet blondie, your heart shines even in this
forlorn tale of a love gone , you will rise again as always

Well Blue,
I can relate to this as well. This is a universal feeling. But as the Pips say, keep trying, 50 million?? humans can't be wrong

Classic Bluesy-girl poetry.
this is a bittersweet beauty Lori.
looking back in the memories...while looking ahead in the lessons learned. We grow with every goodbye.

Home is a feeling I buried in you ...
I'm alright, I'm alright ... It only hurts when I breathe ...

Lori, it's so good to read you again. I especially
loved these two verses....

I felt safe in your arms
wide open to possibilities
the sky was the limit,
seemingly endless.

But as sure as the sun sets in the west
you slipped away like silk
in a heart beat,
without a ripple.

Hugs,
Ethel

Great metaphor, excellent imagery in this...
surely it slipped, but left behind
the survivor, who stands tall...

Well done, m'dear

Thank you Ethel and Karilea for your kind words.
I'm kinda partial to the endless ripple myself.

So glad to see you two here.  ~Hugs~
