From a cradle to a casket

"…So it's not lingo; it's a dialect,"
Declared the renowned-one as he lifted
Tinted glasses from his trophy case,
A bookshelf glutted with literate literature, literally
Letters from lawyers, lying linguistically,
Writing with words wearing letters themselves,
The first of which he created to be the same,
Confounding the colloquial, trumping the typical.
Now, as his hard-cover accomplishments may tell you,
The doctor's vision was quite fine.
He needed something to cover his murky green eyes,
For they were his polluted sea, and it was high tide.
Time for the Atlantic to writhe up onto its shore
So it could peer, and secretly marvel, at the clear, shining lakes.
He ahemed, the green-eyed general-ologist,
Who hung his heart behind his degree,
Which was boasting: "Ph.D. in glancing over
Your book, and our your living room window,
To see your next-door neighbor burn his hand on the grill,
Then wash it down with alchemical laughter."

I could almost smell the tomes and the woodwork of those overloaded shelves. Very nice, comfortable read.

Happy to have read this poem.
This was a wonderful write,
the first I've read of yours.

You appeal to the five senses
I could almost taste, touch,
hear, smell and see your descriptions.

This was very cleverly written
you are very talented!
