Awake

The dawn has opened up her clouded eye
And gathered raindrops sprinkled from the sky
She stirred the mist that settled in the night
And raised her head to kiss the edge of light

An antlered buck stood grand and statuesque
His robust silhouette was firmly pressed
Against the pinkish sky and shadowed deep
On fields, a figure stenciled black and steep

His marble eye was hypnotized and gazed
To where the darts of light had pierced the haze
For when the darkness of the night was done
His chest basked full and pompous in the sun

The dawn had woken up a fresh new day
Before it tiptoed silently away
It roused the earth to sight and touch and sound
And prancing hoof across the dewy ground

wow, this flows smoothly, rhymes perfectly, and still it fulfills everything a poem should... with perfect images and smiles.
I love it.
