Oh how come death encroaches love,
for such a sweet thing to this;
that it showers from Heaven above,
and comes to thee in sweet kiss?

Never before this dreadful day,
had this ailing heart lost so much;
that upon that day death did prey-
caressing thy heart with his touch.

Oh upon that most deadly hour,
when love ceased its' beating;
thy heart was to a lovely flower,
set before sun for heating.

Without love's own nourishing tear,
thy flower was sure to die,
for such deadly passion did sear,
and cause this flower to run dry.

So it is such a flower may never bud,
nor in its own likeness seed;
for its own existance was loving blood,
and to thee, love is all I need!

Jared

I absolutely love this line..
"Without love's own nourishing tear"
Wow! That speaks millions of exposing and endearing expressions within.

Good write.
