We’re all a little selfish, my conclusion on reflect
For what we get through life and day we echo by effect
Then context it to feelings of our damage or repair
So we ourselves relate and judge the joy or felt despair

We’re conscious of the ever voice that talks within our mind
And often we don’t sanction truce so betterment to find
But everything comes back to us, to satisfy our need
It must be what is born within, a fragment of our seed

The world could change a million times but leave us just the same
Reflecting on our inner self, unconscious to the game
Seeing just the up close life, cocooned in what surrounds
One speck of life’s rebellion, seeing only inner bounds

We’re different, I concede that, but in truth one must know
That when the chips are really down the inner self does show
And often it can scare you of what your thoughts might be
And often we will not admit, so no one else can see

For judgment is a thing we hate; more how we judge ourselves
As more we tend the right the wrong, the more one inner delves
For somehow on a pedestal we’d like ourselves to be
But most of us will never say, while others never see

So what I think I’m saying, be kinder to oneself
For rights and wrongs will come and go each day
Let’s not become that lonely book of selfness on the shelf
Let’s sanction peace to rid the doubt and help us find the way

Dear Rick thank you for your inner reflections.

Yes, we must overcome ego and just be .... love. Beauty is to create harmony between mind and heart.

Amen to these thoughts, Rick.  You are so right.  "Let’s sanction peace to rid the doubt and help us find the way."
I believe that to find the way, we need to get out of the way.  Great write.  ~K~

An interesting thought to ponder here, Rick.

This is wonderfully pensive and deeply spiritual.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown
