The young girls stand in line
Each with one hip cocked out.
Standing on their long, long legs
Like exotic birds wading in shallow waters.

Their red mouths flutter
Like tropical butterflies
After a long migration.

They talk about their boobs and boys..
Which, when you think about it
Is the same conversation
Young men are having
On the other side of the room.

The guys amble over
Like so many lean hounds
Trying not to show the hunger in their eyes.
