Out to sea, far out on gently undulating water, he woke to hear seagulls crying above his head.

Firece was the sun on his face, his mouth dry as the sand in a desert.
Then he heard her voice, oh how he wished he'd listened to what she'd said.

Rising and falling on troughs and waves, he began to drift in his mind too.
Back through his past he went.

Oh the first time they had met and the emotional outpouring of unconfined joy.
The hours and days in company with each other, time of love and beauty spent.

Then as soon as they had met, drifted apart.
Ringing in his mind was her final words of parting.

Back on the bobbing boat, he layed staring up at darkening skies.
Slowly, on the wind a gull flew over, without effort, just sailing.

Rising above the hugest of waves, he watched it fly away.
Terror gripped him as he saw the giant wave.

Bearing down and seconds from wiping him out, he suddenly awoke.
Sweat pouring from his soaking wet hair, he saw her lying there, to God a silent prayer he gave.

''Each soul is potentialy divine..the goal is to manifest that divinity''

He kept her photo inside his pocket watch for strength and company.....and when he would look at the hands ticking...he would think about the hours and days they had spent ....when time was not measured...but now..every minute ached with every heartbeat..every tick...echoed loudly to the lonely cries of his heart. The biggest echo was the sound of her voice, her laughter...the words.."I Love You"....Those words echoed the loudest, he could still hear her saying them....across the sea...ghostly whispers crying loundly upon the winds....winds of change....
