Seed’s Creed

The writing said,
‘twas of leaves and petals,
All things outward,
And I said,

What of the seed?

Is that not where knowledge lay,
Within,
Centered,
Independently reliant enough, to fall among
The ruins of rock,

What of the seed?

~*~

Days flew ~ the seed became
Something else,
Leaving this behind…

~

But, crack'd the seed for oils within
And rub the rock for dust of red
Then dip the quill within the womb
And write me what'd be said
That leaves on leaves the toil of soul
Those words that trip a tongue's delight
That, savored, last, into the night
That, once held, is captured, in one's sight

And in the light thus captured
    Within it's gracious gleam
Is once again gone, as dust,
So let me seed yet one more dream...

~*~

What will come from this
Tiny brown round
Of otherworldly times,
Tracing roots of lineage, tracking ties that bind,
Will it stand ’neath twilight skies,
Or wither by harshest sun?

Never fear, the oils will hold
To write again,
To write again.

Recently I planted a peach seed in the ground at Bayfront Park in Miami. I wonder if its going to grow or not. Frankly, I doubt it, since the peach seed may require the nourishment of the fruit itself, but hell, i'm not botanist.

Hell of a thought, sunshine. Had to read it a few times...

Karilea
Such poetry, form and content, makes my spirit rise.. Thank you for this one, it did exactly that...You have captured a part of nature, tiny as it may be... a seed holds the energy of what has been and what can be...I love the end lines of this poem.

Sunshine,
This is so eloquent and reflective.  I may be back later in the week-I think understood most, butwas puzzled by some.  You are a much deeper thinker than I.

First the shoots
    and tiny roots
       then leaves slowly
         slowly evolving Sun fed
           hunger raises stalks
             to warming blooms asudden
               burst of self becoming I
                 knowledge aware self beyond
                   till glamour falls petals
                     to the ground only then
                       does the realization
                         truly come to being
                           my purpose more
                            than color glory
                              to leave a new
                               yet recognized
                                more lovely
                                 flowering
                                  in seeds
                                   comes final
                                     knowing

"High on the Mountain, where the Sun stil Shines, and the water runs a little lazy."
