In the wee hours of the morning
small sounds abated by his snoring.
Cable news plays in overdrive
to hide the tears that should be cried.

Harmonious sounds abound beneath
the stealthy cover that she keeps
and lie just under plasmic roar.
If only he dreamed and did not snor!

Living freight train matches news
and she wonders if she'll ever snooze!

Earplugs earplugs on the wall
which is the very strogest pair of all

poetry s everwhere- even the oddest soundng places
recommend "sound slencers" kept my hearing intact through the rock band days, think they might rise to the call

fun, sympathetic read

Dixie, in the past two years, I've become an insomniac as a result (well, also there's a pain factor but the snorring is maddening)!  Thanks for reading, sweet lady!

EternitysHorizon -- yes, I have resorted to earplugs -- the kind that are given to patients for MRIs, but they are not even strong enough!  Thanks for reading.

I have written a few poems
just like this...
there are somewhere in the archives,
gathering dust...

iliana,
I'm in the computer room right now listening to my sweet hubby snoreeeeeeee in the adjacent room.  The walls are vibrating, the roof is shaking, the dog has its paws over its ears, and the cat is cringed up ready to fling itself through the window!
Identified with this cute one, but understand it's not really cute situation at all.  Good luck sleeping tonight. Maybe, wear yourself out walking or something so your dead tired.  Warm milk?  A hypnotic tape, you are getting sleepy and the canals of your ears are closing...closing...  When you hear the first snore, you

Been there,
Done that,
Now I live on my own.
The ear plugs,
Lack of sleep,
Got tired of his loud drone!

LOL   for you I have this:
