Moved from a shack to a barn

Love, I believe, simply is

That it can be neither given nor taken
but rather, only shared
as would a hearth or a bed

That it is immutable
and cannot be corrupted
That what would bring jealousy
envy, avarice or lust is spurious
and is not love

Nor can love be consumed
For no matter how deeply we draw
the well remains undiminished

I would say that love is innocent
That it is as wholly unaffected
by cutting blades and dragging weight

As it is by the notion
that I could dress mine in a cloak
cut from the fabric of night
adorned with stellar mythologies

And clasped at the throat
with the crescent moon

Ed...you keep sharing such wise thoughts...
and bring the feelings right along with them.

Thank you so much.

The third stanza was GREAT!! THE WHOLE POEM WAS GREAT!!!!!! Sometimes all you can do is sit back and admire, which is exactly what I'm gonna do!!!

If you're not yourself, then there is no you.

When you find such love, you've found the only important thing, the only thing that is truly valuable. Everything else becomes window dressing.

Bless you for this.

Ed, simply 'love-ly' in its simplicity, beauty and truth.

Warm hugs and knowing smiles,

Wranx,
You've got me hooked on your poems since I've begun.  How could I have missed your artisty?  And yes,
   "That it is immutable
   and cannot be corrupted
   That what would bring jealousy
envy, avarice or lust is spurious
   and is not love"

And we get to read this for free?!  I know you will think I flatter.... I am only telling you that you are sitting on a volume of amazing work that I would pay for, no kidding -- not meaning to flatter, only being honest.
