You were there, that day.
You held me, your son, first born.
So tiny was I then, being held
within such strong but tender
arms....

So tiny am I now, now that
farewell has come, when a
memory caresses the winds
of my mind.  When days of
ago are just as though they
were........today.

Your eyes, how can a son
ever forget the eyes of such
a gallant and warm hearted
yet quiet...and oh so sensitive
of a man....

And you said,   “Son, you
and I are so much alike.”
I was speechless.  For,
through all the years,   the
years of silent love, the
last thought was that...

You know, you knew...
I know....I knew....your
twilight had come, as
a new moon rose into
the heavens above,
carrying you into his
arms.....leaving behind
my tears.....and....most
of all....

Your memories.....

I love you Dad....

To my Father, who passed away last night.....
Jan 2, 1924....Mar 23, 2004....

Rest peacefully my father, for we stand
beside you.....as you sleep....

Mangus, this is beautiful, and I suffer your loss.  Never had a father of my own so it always hurts to see one pass away, knowing the loss of one so well.

What ever may or may not have transpired between you in your years together, remember it all dearly, hold it forever close.

My heart to you, my friend.

Dearest Barry....I am so sorry about the loss of your father.
When we hurt, sometimes our most sacred tears stay hidden
and the heart cannot express all the pain that it feels inside.
I know the words said to us often pale in the shadow of grief...
still I want you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you.
May you be comforted with the belief that each time we remember,
we meet again with those we love, for the heart never forgets.
May your beloved father rest in peace.

Magnus,
I am so sorry to hear the news, but glad that you were able to write.  Your father must have been an incredible man to have raised you.  I'm glad he told you how you and he are alike-I'm sure it means a lot.

Barry, it has to be very difficult to come to terms with the fact that someone who was always in your life is now no longer there.   Please know that I am thinking of you in this time of sorrow.  I am indeed sorry for you loss.

Barry, having lost my dad a few years back, I can understand. However you could not have written these lasting words, if the closeness had not been there and the memories, of which will always be, since in the last analysis, that is all we ever have..is the memories

Barry, I don't think any words could comfort something like this...all I can say is that something like this isn't supposed to happen.  God bless you, as I'm certain after reading this, there are tears in His Eyes as well...love and hugs...Lee J.
