Regalia of a purposeful façade
Where laughter hides the truth
Brevity holds back oceans

Where we stand and where we lie
Never to each other, only to ourselves
Silence but a barrier to feeling

Magician, but the cloak of majesty
Quantifying crowned jewels
Numb to what might ache…what might touch

Kept simple and kept away
Indifference stutters back another day
Slam of door and deadlock…bolt defying key turn

What could I say?
But open every entrance that you exit
While we gaze into each other’s hearts…you may cover your ears

And know love always hears
