The beat of one’s heart, once strong, weathering
all storms, now fluttering, skipping against the
winds that ominously caress the mind as
darkness surrounds.

The flame, bright upon the hearth...embers
aching to again feel the draft upwards into
the heavens.  Mere coals, glowing dimly.

The spirit, lying twisted upon the cold
of earth, once tall, strong, now frail
fearing...

Pray that once again the fires may
fill the lighted halls as flames dance
merrily and laughter, now dead...
Rises once again from the throat
that screams....in need.

Barry

I like the images even if I'm not sure exactly where you're coming from....The poetic language is great.

Good to read your words again.....

Hi Magnus,

this is an intense read, the kind of blending of imagery that comes with dreams.

Well said!

Hi Barry

Your words are as wonderful as ever.  I very rarely manage to get to PIP and the pace is so fast here that I find it hard to keep up.  However, it is always so wonderful to read your inspiring words and you remain one of my alltime favourite poets.  I hope all is well in your life, my friend.

Take care..........Sue

Hope all is well.

Sometimes I feel like an ember in need of a puff of fresh air to wake me up.  I like this one.
