I’m living in a house
full of reasons to be alone;
always stepping over scattered debris,
the tattered remnants
of others’ unwanted schemes;
lightly skirting razor edges
on all the shattered dreams,
the piles of unwanted hand me downs
from lives I wish I’d  never known,
and I am tired to the bone.

Can you give me a new reason
to keep me going on?
Karma’s trading lower in my portfolio.
I’d sell a couple lifetimes
for the peace I use to know;
I’ve settled all the debts I can
on this life's shabby carousel,
I really am weary from carrying
all the lessons I’ve been shown,
and I am tired to the bone.

Maybe the next life will include instant disposal of anyone ideas immediately they cease to think of them or produce

Life on the wheel seems fast at times and mind-boggling slow at others

Only problem is they fixed the batteries and we get shot of the planet

Excellent words from you as usual

"Can you give me a new reason
to keep me going on?"

I think sometimes the reasons don't become clear until after the going on.

I have such a heavy karma and have been back so many times...
I don't know if I'll ever get 'it' right.
Love this..dear man with the 'hauntingly knowing' eyes.
~Hugs & Smiles, Nancy~

Poetry is not an opinion expressed...
it is a song that rises from a bleeding wound
...or a smiling mouth.

"...and I'm tired to the bone."

...you are not alone, my friend.  Very well written.
