Between Mind and Body

Standing half visionary
A final thing beyond reality
Dangling notebooks of nourishment
Groping for treasure
Swaddling the grave to heart
For life again holds close no mortal song
But great pulp of twine lacing soul
Soaking blood of unknown tendons
Quaint inhuman sense in ordinary living
Like a void of declaration learning to live
Together with splendor, making completed worlds
Defying laws of nature
Color and consistency of goldenseal
Vitamin of lovers reaching identical
Variants of pearl showered nights
Possibility summer has no limits…if we move
Truth of what we perceive
Dropping in wads of artesian wells
Moonlight floating within great watercolors
Praying like a Greek religion
Latin words falling into my hungry cupped palms
Directory of philosophical timelines
Assembled side by side with a period
Reminding in spirit
Characters of actions
Attention turned to the conduit of human
Molecular particles shaping by chance
Devotion to tranquility…loving nature
Collecting pieces of life’s sensory knowledge
Subversive expression
Emanating outwards and beyond
Taking me with it…
From the fringes of inner space
Well-suited being
Virtue by discipline
Into an eternal existence…concept of essence
In those who not only view them, but first perceive them
I am that sense, that state, that way of self-interest
Alternative versions and hypothetical doubt
Surrendering to the monarch
That church of observation
Philosophical teller of tales
Supposed in requirements
The certainty of my life
Drawing true nature and content
Approaching the fire, deliberate
This has no motive for deception
Where I am the will discovering truth
Power of believing….ascends
Circular vortex
Understood as a being of essence
Within a popular world

there I stand, half visionary

You are nothing short of a great writer... a special gift of imagery and metaphor. I really enjoy reading your work, Lee!

As always, I find multiple layers of meaning within your writes, and as always, I know I will return to this piece again later to absorb more.
