~*~

A surge among passages
through canals and narrow channels
tending close to details
tossed in restless slumber.

A nightly cruise on a wayward wind
taking refuge from the port of days
coursing through a chain of islands
where the horizon joins two worlds.

Moving as one on the same breeze
pulls like a blanket under dark skies
turning over iridescent waves
until day breaks.

An assortment of seashells lay as I left them
washed upon the strand
strung like jewels from a sunnycrest
glossing over the wake.

A blue heron cries
in the mourning twilight
that recedes with the tide
and ferry's me home.

Wow!  Beautiful imagery all the way.  But you really captured me with these beautiful birds that are just coming back to parts of Ohio. (We have one stop occasionally
at my mother's pond-a real treat.
              Enjoyed.

Smiling here, understanding the feel and scent of this scene.
This is one of the most beautiful writes I've read lately, Bluesysgal, a keeper for my library. (great harmonic quality)
