The Bull called Meek

It’s hard to ride this bull called meek
I cannot hide the flames of weak
They burn my mind of self-control
I cannot bind or stay the goal

I cannot stay the bucking ride
The twists and turns of lives abide
And though I hold as tight as hell
I never get to hear the bell

Each day I start the test in full
And wrap my legs around the bull
Swear that I will stay the course
But a bull is not a horse

And I am bucked into the sky
And land upon the sigh of why
That tears my flesh and breaks my bones
That brings but naught but pains and moans

Some day I’ll hear the ending bell
And win the prize of peace as well.

Peace is such a heavy belt-buckle, Sir...
but somehow?  I see you swaggering with a smile
under the weight of it.

Good St. Paddy's Day to you, Sir!

Oh boy, am I ever familiar with this bull, it is a very hard animal to ride...
But there it is when I wake up, every morning, staring and snorting at me...so I climb on again, even thought it has thrown me many times before...
Love the poem, See More....

Sy

I know what you mean....It's a hard bull to conquer but the mistake is to not keep trying....Where would we all be if we didn't??

Good writing!
