alliteration... From Arrogance to Monotony and Beyond All eighty apes ate all the apples anxiously, before the brazen baboons bounded behind berry bins. Cautious cowardly cougars cowered, cringing over cornflower blue crocus, during the downturns of delicate deciduous branches. Every eggplant eagerly escaped each escargot wanna-be eating every inch of endive, escarole and e-food in eye-view. Firmly, Fred Fipple flipped flap jacks with finesse, while gyrating gregariously in a green gaucho get-up. Holly Hunnycutt hugged huge hippos while harnessed to Henry’s hefty horsehide hitch. Iggy Inchworm inched his way inward, in-line with inkspots in Iggy’s inner Isinglas implements. Janis Jackelope jumped gingerly just beyond Jeff’s Jaguar wheels while juggling jugs of juice. Kirk Kinkajou coiled craftily, while keeping kilos of kickapoo joy juice from curdling and careening, past Kilimanjaro and the Kingdom of Kish. Lance Leopard lapped lusciously at leventy-leven licorice lollipops and lazed like a luminescent lepodoptira who’d lapped up lingering drops of locoweed liqueur. Manny Manatee munched mounds of muscle-bound mermen during Monday’s matinee musical. Now, naturally, I need not necessitate nefarious newsmen to nocuous nihilism or nostalgic notification of such notorious novelty. ©March 16, 2004 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, I'll seek the lighthouse evermore. |
