My Memory Knows

I remember how content I felt
when my wife would lay in my
arms, and she would roll over
on her side with her back to me.
I could hold her that way for hours.
Pulling her close, to feel her soft
body, pressing hard against mine.
Falling asleep in her presence
all the while feeling blissfully sublime.
Awakening each morning in yearning
to partake, of her graceful beauty
and a fresh smile on her face.
I love, no I hate to think back,
to the days of all those years ago.
But I truly miss our special times.
Why did she choose to go?
Alas, she had good reasons.
Of most, my memory knows.

Oh so tender and so bittersweet...my heart cries for you and as much as you hate the memories, remember them for believe it or not it is the bad ones that seem to give you strength...my heart has now felt a piece of your sorrow through these beautiful words and I am sorry for your pain.
~Live and Laugh~

Because of you I laugh a little harder, smile a little more, and cry a little less

Enjoyed your words, the personal feelings, people move on I suppose, I dont have reasons why something fails and something that should never survive hangs on.

Maybe I prefer not to know

Wow James...this has to be one of your best.
