~~**~~
My day will be what I make of it
and how I cope with what it may bring
Whatever the situation that arises
it is my choice to cry or sing

If someone says something to me
that does not feel just right
It is my choice whether or not
we will discuss it or will fight

If they decide they want to fight
or if a discussion comes about
I will still be the one to decide
if I want to talk or to shout

If I prefer to discuss
but still a shouting match occurs
No-one else can determine my tone
or how I will choose my words

I have no control of the weather
if I shall see sunshine or rain
Yet I still have control on what
I dwell on that turns into pain

So my days will be what I make of them
no-one else will decide for me
If I choose to make them sad
or if I fill them up with glee

Dear precious Ethel Mae, may your days be full of "glee" as you are most deserving, Sweet Kind One!

You truly are the master of your own destiny and are at the helm of your ship as it sails through life! Ships ahoy!

Love you!

You are so right, dear Ethel! It's so important to be aware of this. Great write.

One of my senryus comes to mind:

Life flows placidly
we have the choice to be free
to cry or to laugh

Thank you for sharing your wisdom and beauty.
Love, Margherita

I need to print this out and stick it on my mirror...and my wall at work...and give it to my daughter to hang on her wall...

I think we need to make Ethel our motivational speaker.
Not only does she shine in her positive attitude but she does it in rhyme.
Wise words poetess.

I am sure of my reasons, embracing the seasons,
and the sacred simplicity of you at my side.

Hi garysgirl. I love this. I know I have not been around much lately...but I am glad I dropped in to read you this morning. Bravo!

(big angel hugs) Awwwwwwwww, and I certainly hope you choose each day to live it in glee, but of course it's your destiny, yay! (kiss on cheek) God Bless You, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Ethel, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!
