The road of life we trod upon
Through all our days and years
Takes many turns, crooks, and curves
Bringing joys, happiness, or fears

With these emotions of our lives
Brought to us from our day to day
Some feel the desire to write of them
With unique thoughts they say

It seems when a poet writes
Of memories of which they see
Each event is seen differently
And has many ways it could be

Though enormous the heartaches may be
Within the writers tender heart
The joys are equally exuberant
Of which they eagerly write a part

Whether of happiness with all its joy
Or of tears brought from sadness
All is embraced deeply by a poet
And written of with hearts gladness

Ethel~

Can't tell you how true that is...so many memories flood my mind when I read the words of others.

Nicely written

Ask a poet a question and a second later the answer is different, phrased differently and another image

Life of a poet's words before written is 20 minutes before the new mutation.

Not from the heart as the heart feeds the brain and the brain takes in every input

It is from an image that all the senses bring together for a moment or 20

Ethel?  Could you take a gander at my request in the Poetry Workshop, and then let me know if I can use this?  You'll understand once you read it.  OK?  [I'll get down on my knees if I have to, but please, that wouldn't be a pretty sight... ]

How very true this is...and how beautifully penned m'friend.

This is a very special poem. I have a feeling it especially means a lot to you.
I can feel the tenderness in each word. How deep the emotions run.
