I, having been guilty before
Of turning my back upon here and now
Casting a blind eye against
What a child once vowed
I will treasure time above all else
I will savor every feeling felt

Begged forgivenesses offered up
Small tokens this time too late
For time is not the friend I imagined
Nor is he willing to wait
Will not dwell on what the wise cannot see
I must contend with what is before me

Drowned under the weight of it all
Lord knows I have myself to blame
Going down into depths unexplored
Of moments unrestrained
I shall gather all of these tears
That fall with the swiftness of the years

For that is all that is promised
And only on that will I dwell
Being that you cannot return
And where you go, no one tells
Everything else lies under shroud
So, I too will live for right now

Welcome PK:

What a tonic in this write...
thoughtful and certain in it's anguish and truth.

You write well.

Ahhh its so good to read your words on blue again... as always your angsty writes of conflict and resolution in rhyme get to me and remind me how exceptionally well written poetry reads aloud with slow smooth cadence and vocabulary and phrasing that defines classic PK poetry... your muse will be always be one I look for...beautiful writing Jer.

Through the water ... through the rain ... to the soul of everything
Wash my heart out on the stones ... and I'm almost gone.

I like this one, it says some things I've been thinking lately. Sort of brings them into focus.  Thanks.
