I Fish

I cast my fate upon the sea
My weight a theme my hook a dream
The line lets out the life of me
That is the play that holds the scheme.

Each day I pay the pain and toll
For grime has set into the reel
This Eden of my very soul
As time has robbed my hands of feel

I sit each dawn in morn and scorn
At times I say I’ll take no more
My hands and face are weather worn
My being tired to the core

Although I try my best to fish
My mind is often set adrift
To fall into a phantoms wish
To give my weakened spirits lift

For I am bait upon the sea
And death has fate the hook for me

Ok then---
Me thinks we will have to start eating more chicken

And Raspberry Tea will make Randy rev up.

If youre the bait? then Im a mermaid. LOL

Well, Janet Marie, said such nice words ...   I want to reach out and hug you.

This is a fantastic write, but it hurts! I don't think you have  weakened spirits at all, dear Seymour! It's just some moments ... they pass.
Love and hugs. Margherita

JM,
Well maybe you are a mermaid, want to go for a swim? You can hold on to Randy and he'll take you for a jet ride. LOL

Margherita
I know they pass, thank you sweet.

Nancy,
Think I could use some tea today.

Martie
I'll take all the kissing and hugging I can get.

Seymour
Not quite what I expected, thought it might be a poem about the one that got away..instead I got a much deeper poem. Not that I am disapointed, it is a beautiful poem and I am glad that I read it..nice work, as always.
