As sunrise swallows the night,
and daylight’s limbs stretch the mind
in rhythmic sweep over the body,
my restless soul senses
the barometer is falling,
once again;
and with its fall
the heart beat is altered
inexorably
and I am momentarily determined
to move the beat forward
through rain, sleet and snow,
climb the mountain of monotony
I’ve been ignoring for days.
My personal fuel cells crave
replenishing, and the cupboard is bare.
Outside, the air is saturated,
the clouds hang too low to the ground,
and the ache in these mature bones
keeps me hovering near the heater.
There is always tomorrow.

Or is there?

Midnitesun,
There is...Afterall there was one day last week that gave us hope for warmer weather.  The old weatherman is just fooling with us to get our dander up!   Enjoyed your write.  I'm wishing you lovely weather as fast as it can get here!

Kacy, loved these lines:  "My personal fuel cells crave replenishing, and the cupboard is bare."

OhKacy~
Yes ... there will be a tomorrow ... for as I just wrote a friend today,
"When the sun comes up tomorrow ... I will still love you."~

Wishing you the warmth of the sun to light your day~

In some households throughout time,
bare cupboards use to cover stashes
of necessities .... food, water, wealth ...

... I would say behind yours is endless soul.

(sorry ... had to take a peek!)

                  this is a keeper!     *S

Hi Kacy,
It's good to see you here.......
and yep, we do have the hope of
tomorrow...as long as there's breath, anyway.
