These Giants

The trees stood silent wet in state
Drooping under moistures weight
And I in awe stood before
These giants of the forest floor

Watching wind bend bough and leaf
Bringing phantoms of motif
Lifting spirits of conceive
From the merit of believe.

They stood upon an open age
Playing giants on a stage
Whispering in a common law
The language of forevermore

As I, in my wage attire
Lit with rage and set on fire
Charged into a windmills turn
Impaled my lance in naïve learn

And as I woke upon the floor
I swore to God I’d charge no more.

ancient redwoods came to mind, in this morning's lesson of yours...

A fitful bounty of offerings you lay before us....good one.

deep writing , i love the forest , being raised in the northern lower penninsula of michigan , near the mackinaw bride , the woods were so powerful back in the arly 1900's like the ents from tolkien , the trees were tall as we could imagine , wiped out , but never again , i stand guard at the forsts floor , a knight of nature , wielding a pen twice as mighty as the sword

Beautiful write, the imagery was excellent.
The forest and trees are so inspriring.
