~* A Quilted Evening *~

She said, “Will you please read to me?”
As I gently tucked her in.
Laying her head upon my knee,
She waited patiently for me to begin.

I became a tender pillow
To a child with skin so fair.
Soon,my worn and weary fingers
Laced through strands of silken hair.

This life’s so very good to me,
For its love that makes me whole.
This memory I was capturing
Was food for a craving soul.

There is no better time to spend
No matter where you look,
Than reading to an open mind
A few pages of a storybook.

I would choose a quilted evening
Over treasure chests of gold,
Just to share this time together,
As a simple fairytale is told.

"Once Upon A Time" comes but once,
So I make the time to read.
Hoping years down the road
They too will follow my lead.

~* For My Tori *~

Today I'm only moving clouds, tomorrow I'll try mountains.

Sharon...Tori will treasure this!
How lovely it is to spend time with our grandchildren.
Such a joy and a blessing they are!

This is great, Sharon - Reading together is what special moments are made of... Of course I make Cassandra read to ME, though...

Glad you enjoyed this (Yes it is for her little book,) and I hope one day she will remember all the special times we shared, in these poems and pictures.
