It seems there is always a storm brewing
Rain is pounding down, lightning flares
Waves of pain crash upon the shore
Mingling with the mist of my tears

Wandering aimlessly through the dark
As cold anxiety bites to the bone
Searching for a place of succour
Somewhere I won't have to be alone

In the distance the warmth of a light
As a shadow stands in the window
I can feel the peace residing within
As I approach my foosteps do slow

Filled with self doubt, yet curious too
I stand silently before a closed door
Wondering why I have been drawn here
For shelter, friendship... maybe more

A hand reaches out and draws me within
And I find I am wrapped in your arms
My heart tells me I am finally home
You are my shelter in all of life's storms

"as cold anxiety bites to the bone"  Pure perfection.  I really enjoyed this one.  I'm honoured and surprised to be the first to read it!!  Great write.

Much enjoyed the read here Steven.
Very positive closing stanza.
