Music From the Corner of Winter....part 3

I can feel the dirt is moving
On the tips of green I see it
And the sun is in the morning
It is building bone on skin now

And the deepening of darkness
Is because the day is lighter
And the crows of raucous rousing
Find the open morning window

I can see the breath of springtime
In the creeping of nasturtiums
And the shaking of the rooftops
Is the scattered raindrops drying

I can feel my skin get lighter
And its clothe make silk from flannel
For the window will be softened
Chill be taken from the curtains

And I want to travel seaward
Across the nape towards summer
Fill my buckets with the fragrant
Seaweed shells and sandy dollars

And I know the snow of fresh fall
Will be melting on the mountains
And the apple painted sunsets
Will swallow whole the day in lovely

And the winter will be over
With its cold sheets of curled sleeping
Leaving shadows to delight in
Fine for feather pillowed nighttime

Then I feel the warming fire
From the hands across the seasons
For its in the cart of favorites
Walking with me into April

No matter what the season's heart song
It is the window that opens inward
That is the music from the corner
of going home

I am glad to hear that the crow are doing their job of waking things up.

There is a wonderful sensation of lightness
when spring first begins to creep in...
a very tenuous, mystical feeling of uplift...

just like this poem.

Glad I stopped by when I did. You never know what you'll miss here.....and so the pattern continues.... as I said to you long ago,

"It's a matter of understanding....

Understanding the beauty that is already there, the possibilities that are always present, and the continuity that binds them together....

It's also a matter of being Martie."

Ahhh Martie, thank you for sharing with us your beautiful words for letting us see through your eyes.

Beauty of the world which is soon to perish has two edges, one of laughter and one of anguish, cutting the heart asunder.

An oversimlifacation is that this is a beautiful poem....a pleasure to read, full of looking forward...love it

"Then I feel the warming fire
From the hands across the seasons
For its in the cart of favorites
Walking with me into April"

What I need most now is to walk into April.

Well done my friend
