There comes the phasing of the moon
that howls my soul from rest
Sings the ancient notes of old
that I’ve learned to love the best~

Calls me to the glistening moon
I’ve come to call the listening moon
I sit rapt within the swoon
as wisdom falls in sweet recall
of Great Grandmotherly tunes~

She is Guardian of my Spirit
as she comes in quietly noted array
Singing … always singing
songs that I remember
to this very day~

She calls me to the alter
blessing the heritage of my blood
I kneel in awesome wonder
as the notes of her knowledge flood
my heart and mind with wisdom
that she believes I should share
I touch the sun of morning
to find a feathered thought
waiting there~

~Dedicated to my great grandmother, Annie Wainwright,
whose ancient songs still fill my heart with love~

~*When the heart grieves over what it has lost,
the spirit rejoices over what it has left.

Marge:  How wonderful to have this "spirit touching" experience with your grandmother.
Loved the poem!

Marge~
This is such a beautiful and heartfelt poem.  You speak directly from the heart and I'm sure your Great-Grandmother would have loved this.  You've certainly done her proud.

Coming in to say a sincere 'thank you' to some very sweet folks.
Don't know how I neglected to reply to your sweet comments.
Must have been living the 'real' life at that time~

Because of a sweet request from our Gentle Spirit to repost this one ... thought maybe I'd just give it a little highlighting to the Today's Topics list~

GentlestOne ... I'll pen you another, okay ?
LOVE YOU~ and thank you for your thoughtful kindnesses~
