shaded hues of ambered glow on sunset’s fleece
tether the chords of sun-faint wisps to rain drenched dawn
while sparkled jewels of dew-glint gems drape their droplets
of pallored nectar spent and ease the flow of night to mourn

lest daybreak come and not recount the number of the days
when mourning’s blight decays the morning night
and spheres of light illumed, pierce through the robes of gray

this painted itself across the blue,
a mourning hue that somehow manages to glow warmly
