The false spring comes rolling in off the bay
In the gentle wind unopened daffodils sway
With promise of tomorrow’s blossom
Anticipating that spring is yet to come
But there is still cold winds yet to blow
Before the winter resigns to go
Office workers once closed in pallor
Get out to walk the inner harbor
Removing jackets to feel warmth on skin
Then as the clock ticks on go rushing in
To cubicles and glazed windows
Not to exit before the long shadows
Streak the sidewalks and highways
And late winter too soon ends the day.

Gloom

Ah, yes, Prof.    I was just thinking this myself while I was out earlier. The warmer temps have left us blind to the fact that winter is not quite over. Beware! lol. Enjoyed this write. hugs, Chris

Yes, good description -- late winter too soon ends the day.  Stay warm, my friend!

I loved the color in your excellent writing.  I could visual pale rosy cheeks and inhale the words as fresh air.  This was a delight to read.  When I read writings such as yours my day is complete.  Thanking you,

it's a wonder how such a beautiful place can be the site today of a warm weather wind so strong it turned over a pontoon or water taxi one mile from the shore with one death and 4 now missing in the inner harbor...20 rescued
from "the living classroom" a foundation in Baltimore for children.

praying they find the others

hugs
