You said that it would end this way.
You said I would have not a thing.
You said that I'd beg you to stay.
You said, you said, such cripplings.

If you've learned nothing from our lives--
learn something from the death of us.
Nobody can get out alive.
I think I would have rathered lies
and leave with pennies on my eyes
of a simple copper trust--
weights of measure fluttering
in the stead of starburst rust
taking place profundity--

I wish to die not having seen
this I see before me now...

You said that it would end this way.

Thus I blinked my offering--
the best coin I have ever spent--
at least I know my death is paid.
Life and Lincolns-
set of twins
rolling
rusty
my

two cents...

WOW...this sent a chill right through me!!

woman, you leave me shaking my head, wishing i could find the right words to say to you...

so, a will have to suffice, until i find my "two cents"

We've got to get you on the road...
because I want to hear you reading this,
and your others...
to those who have a soul...

*sigh* ...
me thinks some can turn diamonds back to coal...

"Reeling in the Years" comes to mind....

{"you wouldnt know a diamond if you held it in your hand"}

me KNOWS you are a poetess of perfection...

just look at this gem.

quite the soulful write me twin.

Through the water ... through the rain ... to the soul of everything
Wash my heart out on the stones ... and I'm almost gone.

Incredible, Serenity!  I especially liked the following, but the entire poem is what worked the magic.
"I think I would have rathered lies and
leave with pennies on my eyes of a simple
  copper trust--
  weights of measure fluttering
in the stead of starburst rust
  taking place profundity--

thank you.

Funny, but it's like the end of a horror movie--just when you think the villain is dead?

She blinks.

Thanks again, your words in reply to mean more than you will ever know.
