The frog whispered to the toad
Don’t eat that fly over there
Why not asked the leery toad
There are enough to spare!

That fly is very special to me
It carries a message to my love
It will land and tell her
She’s the one I’m thinking of

They watched the fly hover
Over the pond to the south
It flew near his lady’s lilypad
And she sucked it into her mouth

There is a moral here somewhere
As the frog learned that fateful day
If you’ve got a feeling that’s true
It’s something you alone should say!

Wit sometimes delivers the message of the moral better than any other way...Your poem contains both, good job

What a lovely little poem.  However humble and sweet it may be, it has a clean cut message!!  Wonderful!!

Awww....I love this Sharon.
Maybe the lady frog heard his romantic words and just had to swallow them up so that no other frog of the female gender could claim them?!! hugs, Chris
