Listening to every heart

Of Air and Angels, and Donne, and Light...

Slipped, it was, with angel's hair
as songs of timbre known in love,
then filigreed light, and fragrant air
held earthly scents, 'neath stars above

and tremulous grew my heart in flight
as this figment before me birthed
the strangest sense, like a morning's night
as his essence filled my place on earth,

where here I stood as if rooted be
while elegance stole away in sighs,
as sounds of some lost poetry
were held in glimmer of these, mine eyes,

then slipped they did, these strings of heart
to himself who would love me in all,
not e'en death would dare us part ~
not when love this strong has called.

You have wrapped one of my favorite poems written by one of my favorite poets in pure poetic silk.

You've captured a formal style and made it easy to read.

Truly a graceful write, Kari.

Donne wrote often in a combination of power
and elegance
you have spoken well in his inspiring
High Aspirations indeed
but than again
what other kind are there

"High on the Mountain, where the Sun stil Shines, and the water runs a little lazy."

(big angel hugs) Awwwwwwwww, this is precious, sweet friend, isn't it amazing how poetry is like a spider web, where each thread of inspiration connects to each others hearts and how one voice feeds another? (smiles) God Bless You, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
