To All My Favorite Poets

'Another internet poet',
another voice out of the black
to paint a portrait of living,
to give me a song that I lack.

A voice that comes out of nowhere,
a voice filled with joy or with pain.
A voice that strikes me like thunder
or falls like the blessing of rain.

Not published in old books of verse
and stuck on a library shelf-
immediate, here, in my face,
a voice I can answer myself.

She cries, and I write, "I'm sorry,
but things will get better some day."
When he makes a joke of his friends
I'm happy that bad boys can play.

I never knew what great treasures
would come to me out of the blue.
