Animal Crackers

I fell asleep the other day,
and woke up in a zoo
It had the strangest animals,
I didn’t know what to do

It had all kinds of different creatures,
some from way back when
Tennessee Tuxedo who could dress,
but couldn’t swim

This horse named Mister Ed, was saying,
“Wilbur” all the time
A Dog who was a Deputy was,
out there fighting crime

He went around with Underdog,
and Tramp from My Three Sons
In a world of dog eat dog,
they did it without guns

Spuds McKenzie was a flatfoot,
Astro was the Sarge
Snoopy was their ace detective,
catching crooks at large

Rin Tin Tin was doggy captain,
Lassie was the chief
Huckleberry Hound was out there,
sniffing for a thief

They collared Ren and Stimpy,
and ol’ Petey from Our Gang
They caught Wile E. Coyote,
who was snarling with his fangs

Scooby smoked a doobie,
little Eddie was a snitch
Toto was a runaway,
who tried to bite a witch

Marmaduke got in a fight,
with Tom, and Jerry too
He called up Mr. Peabody,
the only friend he knew

I saw this green guy with a hat,
his name was Wally Gator
I said that I could use some boots,
and he said, “See Ya Later!”

McGilla the Gorilla sure did seem,
like quite the killa
But once you got to know him,
he was sweeter then vanilla

The Paddington‘s, the Care’s
and Gummi‘s all were mellow bears
Just like Yogi and Baloo,
necessities were bare

Gentle Ben was also easy,
Andy Panda too
Winnie was so constipated,
he could hardly Pooh

“I taught I taw a putty cat?”
said little Tweety Bird
Sylvester was a Jester,
who had trouble saying words

Daffy Duck is loopy,
in fact he’s kinda whack!
Then there is that little duck
who always says, AFLAC!!!

Foghorn Leghorn, Super Chicken
need to slowly stew
Darkwing Duck is a kinda tough,
and really hard to chew

Hawkeye Pierce was real sad,
the day he bid adieu
Pepe’ cut a bomb in church,
and sat in his le pew!

Beaver was no Cleaver,
in fact the kid was dull
I’m not even sure if he,
had brains inside his skull

Big Bird is a dodo head,
and Bullwinkle’s a Moose
The NBC has Peacocks
Say, how’s your Granny Goose?

Heckle all you want, and Jeckle
Chilly Willy’s cold
If you can still remember all these,
you are getting old!

Gertrude, and ol’ Heathcliff
Road Runner went Beep! Beep!
Woody Woody Woodpecker,
will never let me sleep

Top Cat, Garfield, Kimba,
and the sly one Snagglepuss
That wimpy coward Lion,
needs some gonads, he’s a wuss!

Joe Camel has a giant hump,
from smoking way too much!
They tried to market him to kids,
so they would have a crutch

The Pink Panther, Tigger too,
ol’ Cheetah was a chimp
Then we had the Huggy Bear,
that scrawny little pimp

Elsie and Elmer,
The Schlitz Malt Liquor Bull
Drink about a half a rack,
plus two forties, then your full

The cow and the chicken are
a protein lover’s dream
Fry me up two chicken breasts,
and smother them with cream

That real nosy, Toucan Sam,
was fruity as a loop
Better get a wonder bra,
if you don’t wanna droop!

Chip and Dale never fail,
now buffaloes have wings
A man with courage stopped a tank,
over in Beijing!

The Chipmunks were a funny sounding
little singing group
The only thing that Alvin wanted
was a Hooolaaaa Hoop?

Rudolph with his nose so bright,
led Santa through the sky
I wonder if that old St. Nick
knew Dumbo too, could fly?

Flipper, Cecil, Aqua Man,
and Chicken of the sea
The Lochness Monster still
survives, away from you and me

I’m gonna get the mayonnaise,
to mix with Charlie Tuna
The kindergarten cop said,
No, no way! It’s not a Toomer!”

Squiddly Diddly, Chumley,
And ol’Melville’s Moby Dick
If we don’t save the whales,
then this world is really sick!

Porky met Miss Piggy and now,
they are makin bacon!
She is making lots of noise,
but he thinks she is fakin?

Kermit’s really just a sock,
that has a funny grin
He probably should use Desenex,
you don’t know where he’s been

King Kong, and Curios George,
and Planet of the Apes
Lucy had a lot of fun,
a stompin on them grapes!

The Clydesdales,  My Little Pony,
Geoffrey the Giraffe
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,
never came in last

Tony the Grrrreeeat Tiger,
and Captain Kangaroo
One was kind a flaky,
but the other one was true

The part that I liked best on,
Mighty Mouse was when he flew
Popo Gigo, Sunday Night’s
on Ed’s really big sheeeew

Speedy loved his cheesy
And Mickey loved it too
Rocky was a flying rat,
nuttier then squirrel doo

Let’s face it Francis was an ass,
and Arnold was a pig
Atom Ant was tiny,
but his courage sure was big

Lamb Chop, Sherry Lewis, Snuggles,
Smoke it Smokey Bear
The Energizer Bunny kept on going,
no one cares

The Trix Rabbit, Fearless Fly,
Barney was a tool
Bugs Bunny was the greatest,
he was no one’s fool

The Green Hornet, Jiminy Cricket
Piglet had a snout
The Spider Man and itsy bitsy,
went up the water spout

The Quanta’s bear, The Beatles,
and The Do Bee, surely did
Quick Draw McGraw,
I think I finally flipped my lid!

Cisco rode Diablo,
and Pancho was on Loco
Chasing the banditos,
then sipping on some cocoa

Roy Rogers’ was on Trigger,
and Buttermilk was Dale’s
I know they both are singing,
up in heaven’s happy trails

The Lone Ranger had Silver,
And Tonto was on Scout
Animals and us together,
now that’s what it’s about

I’m kinda sad that I woke up
I really liked this dream
These characters from yesteryear,
are closer then they seem

I never really thought that all
these memories would last
All these truly fun and smelly
animals from the past

For Karilea...

Animals Crackers are almost as bad as potatoe chips...you can't write about just one!  If anyone could accept a challenge and do it well, you did!  Fantastic, and great for a case of the giggles.  Yes, I'm OLD!

Richy you are a never-ending resource of great memories and you share them so wittily. After reading Pink Panther I had that melody in my mind and the read got just the right rhythm. It’s just a geographical question that I don’t remember all the zoo you shared!

Oh, Richy!!!!!!!!! You are so very talented. I do not know what you do for a living but I think you would be great as a writer of children's books. You have such a unique skill for putting words together...JUST SO...and your endless amount of imagination floors me. You are one of my favorite writers and in the company of some excellent poets! Okay... I remember MOST of them. *G* Does that mean I'm not quite old yet... or already senile and forgetful? LOL

Like someone said... thanks for the memories. *S*

(smiles) Awwwwwwwww, I love cartoons soooooo much as I believe they enlighten and encourage the imagination of the children of the world and animate our lives! (big angel hugs) I never got to grow up during the golden ae of animation with you but I have been blessed to witness a good number of these characters! Hehehe, and don't forget:

Captain Caveman's a'flyin',
but he can sure use a good combin',
and Shaggy and Scooby are sittin' in the back of the bus,
wonder what they're smokin'?
Dee-Dee's invadin' Dexter's lab,
Johnny Bravo needs some relationship advice,
maybe Little Susie will help,
everyone thinks she's nice.
Jabberjaw's in the tank,
Josie and the Pussycats on stage,
Homer's on another wild adventure,
cause Bart put him on a rampage.

(giggles) Yay, I love this, you shine with youth, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Richy, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,
Noah Eaton
