This is a story
of a woman who loved 2 men,

the first, a young painter
that woke her from deep slumber,
breathed art into her coma
as she became a born again poet,

he came every 3rd or 4th full moon,
took her on a ride to see god each time,
then forgot her between
dates in the hotsheets,

never called on her birthday
and now, he's more or less
fading on the same wisp of
cloud that he rolled in on,

the second man wears her name in his skin,
he is meat and potatos,
a boy of the bronx, basic,
working stiff sportsaholic,
inked in a heart, he is
ancient history etched in her,

they've swapped blood, sweat and tears,
but 25 seems just eternal damnation,
as she flirts with freedom and fear
of abandonning what was supposed to have been
a charmed life with him,

so she alternates and lives
each day with indecision,
deeming the man both
her knight and her oppressor,

then last night, she fell
victim to that nasty flubug

he held her head up as she
threw up her guts and woes
into the toilet, nursing her
until the first hint of morning,

and she wonders as she
cleans her mess from the midnight madness,
why she still pines away pathetically
and endlessly for some phantom lover anymore.

Michele, yes those clouds never hold up!
Unlike your writing that is a breath of fresh air that makes the reader,
(that would be me) *gasp* at the irony of it all.

You're something special you know!!!
