The pen consumes the paper like a starving man eats food.
Each scrap that one should savor is devoured in a blink.
It's appetite, omnivorous, combined with attitude,
befitting of a glutton with no manners, one might think.

And, yet, from out this feeding frenzy fashions a design,
amalgamated from a menu varied in its' tastes,
where age enhances flavor like a complimentary wine,
which even in excess lets no small portion go to waste.

It's "ravenous" personified, it's hunger can't be squelched.
The more that it is fed the more it asks for in return.
Disgusting, are all manner of some things which it has belched,
as nauseating as a case of four alarm heart-burn.

And, yet, the connoiseur may find delight in even such,
whose palate is attuned to subtle tastes amid the feast.
Where some might try one bite and then declare it as too much,
the pen digs in, exclaiming, "I must try this, at the least!"

And, so, the banquet offers up, in honor to the host
this poem, in hopes it might be deemed to be a proper toast.

Oh my ... I just love the way your poetic mind works~

'And, so, the banquet offers up, in honor to the host
this poem, in hopes it might be deemed to be a proper toast.'
