Will the rumble occur in the wee hours
times that were sweet suddenly turn sour
at the bat of an eye, flinch of a nerve
awake in rubble, in a state of swerve...

Welcome to a story of men near faults
can't buy peace from locked bank vaults
cause if the crust shifts and two plates chafe
woe to mud brick houses that want to stay safe...

Will the rumble occur all through the night
will you wake from sound sleep in total fright?
if you live on a crust where land surfaces shift,
you risk survival, through the ruins you'll sift

A tumultuous quake, wanderers in a wake
with only a notice, as earth crusts shake;
times that were sweet quickly turn sour
to abandon one's life at an ungodly hour...

exceptional I don't know, articulate yes... there are others here like Prof. Gloom and yourself with a fine talent for expressing themselves in poetry...
